The Clerk is responsible for:
  • Agendas and minutes for all City Council Meetings
  • Public Information Requests
  • Processing Liquor Licenses
  • Organizing and holding all Municipal Elections

Permanent Records the City Clerk is responsible for include:
  • Contracts
  • Council Meeting Minutes
  • Deeds
  • Franchise Agreements
  • Ordinances
  • Resolutions
  • Some Leases

City Council Meeting Documents


The City Clerk creates City Council Agendas and the packet of information attached to the agenda as backup material for each Council Meeting. The backup material is gathered from each department responsible for that specific agenda item.

The City Clerk is considered the Primary Records Custodian for the City of Roswell and processes all Inspection of Public Record Act requests according to the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act.
