The mission of the City of Roswell Animal Services is to ensure the well-being of both animals and residents of our community by delivering professional, high quality, responsive and cost-effective animal control services. Roswell Animal Control Services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
After hours, weekend calls and emergency calls are dispatched through the Roswell Police Department at 575-624-6770. Animal Services Supervisor Joseph Pacheco can be emailed. At the police department, Animal Services is overseen by Commander Joe Smith.
There are plenty of dogs and cats ready for a new home with a loving owner. The various animals available for adoption may be viewed in the kennel area each day beginning at 10 a.m. until the shelter closes for the day. You can view an online list of adoptable animals and enter specific search criteria for the type of dog or cat you may be interested in by visiting rpdp2c.org and clicking on Animal Services.
> Adoptions cost $40 for dogs and $30 for cats.
> Those adopting an animal must get the animal spayed or neutered and get it the proper vaccinations and city tags. (Exception: An animal is not required to be altered if the animal is registered with a recognized organization such as the American Kennel Club or another similar entity.)
> Approved animal rescue organizations can adopt for $1 per animal.
> For pet owners, the fee to reclaim an animal is $40 and the owner is required to have the pet spayed or neutered, and properly registered with required vaccination tags, if those things have not yet been done.
