The Roswell Public Library serves a variety of patrons, each of whom has an equal right to use the Library and an equal responsibility to consider the rights of others. To provide a suitable environment for a variety of needs, the Library will enforce a policy regarding the noise levels which will be tolerated.
Different areas of the Library, because of the different patrons they serve and the different activities they contain, will differ in permissible noise levels.
Normal conversational tones are appropriate in the circulation area, periodicals/newspapers area, reference area, children's room and youth area.
Conversation will be kept to a minimum and conducted as quietly as possible in the computer area and the area designated as a quiet reading/study area.
Patrons are asked to change their cell phone ring to vibrate when they enter the Library. Cell phone conversations need to be conducted outside the Library.
