Councilor Savino Sanchez was born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico. He graduated from Roswell High School in 1966 and married his wife, Grace, in June of 1968. They have two children and nine grandchildren.

He worked for TMC and Nova Bus Company for approximately 23 years. In addition, he was self-employed for four years, doing vehicle inspections (mainly commercial buses throughout the U.S.); worked for the New Mexico State Highway Department for four years in their store operations, lab, and audit departments.

Councilor Sanchez was ordained in 2000 as a Minister of the Gospel, involved as a Board member, Deacon, and Worship Leader. In 2008 he became a full time Associate Pastor at Church On the Move, oversees Jail, Rehab and Prison Ministry volunteers and participates in the Spanish Ministry.

In March 2012 he was voted as City Councilor for Ward 4 and is currently involved with the Public Safety and Infrastructure Committees.
