Adult & Senior Programs

The Roswell Adult & Recreation Center is a place where adults can meet to socialize and enjoy learning new things or expanding what they already know in a safe environment. The Center has been serving adults over the age of 18 for over 40 years. The facility was once the Memorial Youth Center but with the closure of the Walker Air Force Base, the City of Roswell decided to attract seniors to this area to help the economy - and it worked! The adults soon outgrew the facility that they were using and saw a great possibility to utilize this center. The youth activities were moved to the Yucca Recreation Center. However, with the close of the Yucca Recreation Center in 2016, Youth activities are back at the Roswell Adult & Recreation Center until the new recreation center is built at Cielo Grande Recreation area. Anticipated completion in 2020.

The Roswell Adult & Recreation Center includes a playground and park area on the east side with another park, walking trail, horseshoe pits and shuffleboard courts located across the street to the west. Travelling west, the beautiful walk/bike trail leads to Enchanted Lands Park, travelling east it leads to the Spring River Park and Zoo. The Roswell Adult and Recreation Center has three entrances with plenty of parking. There are 13 rooms in the facility and eight bathrooms. The rooms are utilized for classes, activities, rentals and monthly organization meetings.

A current class schedule offering over 25 classes is available at the link below. Most classes are $30 for a ten week session. There is a cardio room that can be utilized for a minimal cost. The Roswell Adult & Recreation Center also has a billiard room with four of the best pool tables in the area. There are monthly dances and numerous special events scheduled throughout the year. The monthly newsletter can be picked up at the office or it can be emailed to you for your convenience.

Whether you’re an avid bridge player, an antique car enthusiast, quilter, rockhound, pool shark, artist extraordinaire, photo nut or a social butterfly you will thrive here. Come by and let the staff give you a guided tour. Smiles are free.
