    Graves Farm and Garden has officially announced the first day for Roasting Green Chile will be August 20th! They are currently taking pre-orders that can be shipped starting Aug. 22nd on their webpage: http://gravesfarmandgarden.com/product/fresh-green-chile-full-bushel/. Andrew Graves did state in the RDR Saturday morning, that "the middle of September is the best time to get chile, that is when they are the biggest, and taste the best, and comes off the plant more abundantly." Graves hours of operation are 8:30-5pm Monday-Saturday and 1-5pm on Sunday. For more information call 575-622-1889

    Duty, Honor, Art: The New Mexico Military Institute Collection Exhibit Opening and Reception 5 p.m. September 30 Exhibit Dates: September 30, 2016 - June 18, 2017 Founded in 1891, the New Mexico Military Institute is one of Roswell's oldest and most significant institutions, representing the only state-supported military high school and two-year college in the western United States. As an education and cultural organization, NMMI has played an important role in the history of the Roswell Museum itself. In recognition of NMMI's 125th anniversary, this exhibit will showcase the school's art collection, and highlight the Institute's interaction with the Roswell Museum.

    The Yucca Recreation Center will start basketball registration September 1st for boys and girls ages 5-8 and will continue until September 30th. The child must be of age by December 31st, 2016. First time players will need to bring a birth certificate to verify age.

    An art sale to assist CASA of Chaves County will be held Sept. 6-30 at the Roswell Recreation Center, 807 N. Missouri Ave. Choose from framed oils and digital photographs by featured artist Paul Ashby. The last Ashby was a talented artist and photographer who participated in Roswell Adult Center painting classes for many years and was active with the Photographic Arts Society and Fine Arts League.
