Landfill to accept post-holiday Christmas trees for free

recycle Christmas trees

After the holidays come and go, local residents will be able to drop off their Christmas trees at the Roswell Municipal Landfill free of charge. The landfill will recycle the trees by turning them into wood chips that citizens can pick up for free for whatever purpose they deem them useful.

Throughout January (Jan. 2-31), the landfill will accept Christmas trees from Roswell residents at no cost as long as the trees are not mixed with other trash. (However, decorative tinsel may remain on the tree.) The trees must be dropped off separately from other trash so they can be recycled into wood chips. The usual charges will apply to any trees mixed with other trash.
