  1. All Day Hands-on Archaeology Exhibit + Special Storytime

    May 27, 2017, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Bondurant Room

    The Office of Archaeological Studies will be featuring a hands-on exploration of New Mexico archaeology and prehistoric lifeways using a wide range of archaeological artifacts to tell the story. The artifacts are essentially arranged as a time line that begins with the earliest Paleoinidan Clovis and Folsom Points and proceeds through various time periods down to around WW II. Library patrons of all ages to have direct hands-on experience with a wide range of artifacts as well as talking with an archaeologist. The artifacts inspire the imagination of the patrons and lead to deeper levels of interaction about such things as preservation, cultural diversity, environment, and a wide range of topics. All day event. Special Storytime presentation at 2PM.

  2. Creating Cyanotypes: A Workshop with David Emitt Adams

    New Class at RMAC! Creating Cyanotypes Instructor: David Emitt Adams Age/Skill Level: all (children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult) Saturday, May 27, 2017 1-4pm $30 members, $40 non-members Learn about the historic cyanotype process and how to make your own photographic prints. Participants in this workshop will use botanical specimens, lace, cut paper and other common household objects to create one-of-a-kind photograms on light sensitive paper. These working methods are similar to the ones used by photographers of the early 1800s.
