    Alien Planets Revealed (documentary, 53 min.) - all audiences 2:00pm It’s a golden age for planet hunters: NASA’s Kepler mission has identified more than 3,500 potential planets orbiting stars beyond our Sun. Some of them, like a planet called Kepler-22b, might even be able to harbor life. How did we come upon this distant planet? Combining startling animation with input from expert astrophysicists and astrobiologists, “Alien Planets Revealed” takes viewers on a journey along with the Kepler telescope.

    Weirdest Planets (documentary, 47 min.) - all audiences 3:30pm With temperatures ranging from 1000 to 2000°C, gravity 15 times stronger than Earth's, and a year that lasts just 5.6 of our days, HAT-P-2b is not a planet you'd want to visit for vacation. The unusual gas giant—located 440 light-years away in the constellation Hercules - turns out to be the most massive planet found outside our solar system so far. Journey further into space with this documentary, and discover the weirdest planets of our universe. These programs are free and open to the public.

  1. Brick by Brick ALL AGES

    April 25, 2017, 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM @ Bondurant Room

    Come to this free, all ages program and have fun creating with Lego bricks! We will begin with a 30-minute building challenge then build whatever you like or give yourself another challenge by adding on to your challenge activity or choosing from our activity cards. There will be a door prize for those who participate in the 30-minute challenge. Creations will be displayed in the Children's department until our next program! Program lasts an hour and a half so enjoy yourselves and have fun!
