As temperatures rise in the coming weeks and months, so also must awareness of the importance of never leaving children inside unattended vehicles. The temperature inside a parked vehicle can quickly reach lethal levels in hot, or even warm, weather. Man fatally shot by officer after pointing gun at three officers

Suspect refused to drop weapon during standoff

Roswell Police Department officers responded late last night (Saturday, March 26) to a call of a pickup truck driving erratically and someone in the pickup having pointed a gun from it. Officers located the pickup and conducted a felony traffic stop, which led to a brief standoff with a man with a shotgun. The man refused to obey officers’ orders to drop the weapon and he eventually pointed the gun at officers, resulting in one officer firing a shot that struck and killed the man. (Read More)

Two local men have been arrested and police are seeking a third Roswell man in connection with a kidnapping and rape of a teenage girl that is alleged to have occurred Friday (Jan. 8) and to have been followed by an unrelated second rape of the same victim that same day. (Read More)

Public’s help sought to identify, locate armed robbers

Subjects stole cash from teenager
Information is being sought to help identify and locate three gun-toting subjects who robbed a teenager of his cash Oct. 9 as the teen was walking on the campus of Job Corps, a residential academic and career technical training program located on the “base” area of south Roswell.
