Administration

The office of the Chief of Police provides administrative direction to the department.

Communications Center

The Roswell Police Department is served by the Pecos Valley Regional Communications Center.

Criminal Investigations Division

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is home to most of the Roswell Police Department's detectives.

Neighborhood Watch

Patrol Division

The Patrol Division works diligently 24 hours a day to ensure the safety of the Roswell community, as well as all visitors.

Professional Integrity (Internal Affairs)

The Professional Integrity/Internal Affairs division's primary function is to ensure that members of the Roswell Police Department are held to the highest standard possible regarding professionalism, courtesy and job performance.

Special Investigations

The Special Investigations Division (SID) investigates illegal drug activity and related crimes. It also monitors gang activity, which often overlaps with illegal drug activity.

Support Services

The Support Services Division consists of one commander, one sergeant, two officers and 11 civilians. The commander and sergeant ensure the subdivisions of the Support Services Division work together smoothly so objectives are met in a timely fashion.

SWAT

The Roswell Police Department’s SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) Team is composed of RPD members from the department's various divisions.

Traffic Division

Roswell Police Department traffic officers are charged with enforcement of the Motor Vehicle Traffic Code.
