The Roswell Police Department conducts policing operations and provides equal protection of the law to all persons within the framework of the United States and New Mexico Constitutions. The Roswell Police Department investigates all criminal matters and brings forth before the courts all violators of the law, assisting in the prosecution of those matters. The Roswell Police Department serves the community to ensure public safety, outreach and support to the community.  RPD includes a Criminal investigations Division, Patrol, Internal Affairs, Special Investigations, Support Services, SWAT, Traffic Division and a K9 unit.

We are a full-service law enforcement agency dedicated to providing the highest level of service possible to our community. Our department is made up of a team of men and women dedicated to serving the needs of the community, providing police services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In an average year, there are more than 60,000 events involving police response (calls for service plus officer-initiated activities) handled by the police department.

RPD strives to treat everyone with dignity and respect, to investigate all criminal matters and bring before the courts all violators of the law and assist in their prosecution.
