The Louis Jones Training Center is a state-of-the-art training facility that serves all of the fire personnel in Chaves County. The City of Roswell's firefighter training academy takes place at the center multiple times a year and the center serves as a location for continuing education and refresher training for the City of Roswell Fire Department and other departments in southwest New Mexico.
The center boasts two truck training areas, a 4-story training tower that includes burn rooms and multiple classrooms.
The training center is named in honor of Roswell Fire Chief Louis Jones, who was killed in the line of duty on March 26, 2002. The fire department and City of Roswell continue to honor his ultimate sacrifice while serving the community he loved.
