Councilor Barry Foster grew up in Clovis, NM. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1984. He met his wife Stephanie Foster (Roswell High Grad. of 1983) while attending ENMU-R. They got married in December 1988 and Barry dropped out of the University to put Stephanie through school. Barry worked for Southwest Canners in Portales. They moved to Roswell in August of 1993 for Stephanie to begin teaching. Barry worked for the AMPI cheese plant, until, it was bought out by Leprino Foods. Barry decided to quit Leprino Foods and return to school in 2001. He graduated with his Bachelors in University Studies (with emphasis in Business and History) in May of 2004, student taught in the fall of 2004, received his Teaching License in 2005. He is in his 11 year of teaching and his 2 year of teaching 2nd grade at Monterrey Elementary. He is the father of 3 boys and 1 girl. All his boys have graduated from Roswell High and his daughter is in her freshman year at Goddard.
Barry is a charter member of Grace Community Church, a member of Elks B.P.O. No. 969, past Policy council member and chair for the S.N.M.C.A.C. Headstart, and has served on the Boards of Roswell High Football and Wrestling Booster Clubs. He previously served as City Councilor for Ward 5 from 2010-2014.
