“My paintings arise from a desire to connect with my own physicality. When I paint, I connect to a non-verbal, sensory understanding of my experience. The materiality of paint, surfaces I prepare, and haptic memories feed my process. I aim for the materiality of my work and its forms to activate the viewer’s senses and to engage their awareness of
nature, space, time, and scale.”
