The Roswell Adult Center is the place to be this summer for anyone who would like to learn a new craft. The Adult Center’s lineup of summer classes features crochet, scrapbooking, stained glass, origami, and two sewing classes – an introductory session for beginners and an intermediate class for those with some experience. 

Each six-week class, scheduled to begin the week of June 13, is held once a week and is designed for adults ages 18 and older. Cost of classes ranges from $14 to $29. For specific days and times, start dates, class costs, and to register for a class, visit roswellconnect.com. Information about the classes can also be obtained by calling 575-624-6718 or visiting the Adult Center at 807 N. Missouri Ave. Registration can also be done in person at the center. 

The Adult Center also has ongoing fitness programs and various “open studio” times for painting, stained glass and lapidary (working with stones and gems). There is also a book club that meets once a week. Details about these programs are found at roswellconnect.com or by calling or coming by the center. The fitness, studio and book club programs are open to anyone paying the day-use “drop-in” fee of $1.05 for ages 55 and older or $2.10 for ages 54 and younger. The programs are also open to anyone with an Adult Center/Recreation membership. Information about the various membership options can be obtained at the center or by calling the staff there.

Instructors are being sought for future programs. Fitness and dance instructors, artists, bilingual individuals, musicians, gardeners and others are invited to call or come by the center to speak to staff about teaching classes.
