[ARCHIVED] Investigation continues to track down armed robber

armed robbery

Police are working to identify and locate a male subject who fired a shot from a gun during an armed robbery just before noon Nov. 28 at a retail business in the southwest part of the city.

Roswell Police Department officers were dispatched about noon to the Off the Wall smoke shop in the 900 block of West McGaffey Street where a male had robbed the store of some cash. While inside the store, the suspect fired one shot. No one was injured. The robber, who was wearing a mask, fled on foot from the store.

The suspect is described as a male with a skinny build, about 5’5” to 5’8” tall, and having a “younger”-sounding voice. He was wearing light blue jeans and a brown or tan flannel jacket. He may possibly be riding a green bicycle, the investigation has determined.

Anyone with potential information that could help identify and/or locate the suspect in this case is asked to call the Roswell Police Department at (575) 624-6770 or Chaves County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-594-TIPS(8477).
