[ARCHIVED] New feature promotes pet adoption

adoptable pet

RPD's Animal Services is introducing a new feature intended to make people aware of an adoptable animal at the animal shelter. We thank those who have adopted animals in the past and hope even more animals can find great homes to be a part of as individuals, couples and families welcome a new pet they can enjoy!

This female pit bull (pictured) is 1 year old and very friendly. You can visit her at the Roswell Animal Shelter at 705 E. McGaffey St. This dog’s impound number is 4986. Shelter hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. You can call the shelter at (575) 624-6722 to learn more about adoption requirements.

We encourage people to consider adopting an animal from the shelter, but please remember having a pet is a long-term commitment and should be made only if you are able to properly care for the animal.

Tip of the Week:

As you decorate your home for Christmas, take note there are some plants that can cause illness in pets if they decide to use them for a snack. Those plants include poinsettia, Christmas cactus and holly. Keep these out of reach of pets.
