City offers $1 permits for home-improvement projects

FeeAbatement_Social

The City of Roswell and its Community Development Department have introduced a new program designed to help reduce the cost for homeowners to enhance their homes and properties. For approximately one year – until May 11, 2024 – the first city building permit application for a project on a single-family residential property will cost only $1.

The $1 fee will also apply to the first building inspection of a project and certain other construction-related fees, such as water- and sewer-line extensions, the installation of water meters, and certain subdivision fees.

The $1 permit fee program is aimed at helping make a variety of home improvement projects – home renovations, plumbing, fencing, storage sheds, patios, pools, sprinkler systems, reroofing and more – financially viable for homeowners. The program can benefit not only homeowners, but also contractors performing work on local homes and owners of vacant lots within the City of Roswell.

For more information, call the Community Development Department at 575-637-6280.
