Numerous minor vehicle accidents are taking place in many places in town Friday morning (Jan. 6) as vehicles are slipping and sliding into each other. Please take things slowly and be extra cautious today if you have to be out on the roads. If you are able, please stay home and avoid the streets.

City crews are out salting/sanding main thoroughfares. Crews are also clearing areas at city facilities.

Due to slick streets and low visibility, Pecos Trails Transit bus service was suspended at 9:10 a.m. Friday until further notice, but critical transportation needs (such as medical patients) will continue to be met. Those needing such rides should call the bus office at 624-6766. Other city operations remain on normal hours currently.

On U.S. 285 north of Roswell, state crews are trying to improve the condition of the highway. Anyone needing to travel north out of Roswell is asked to delay that trip for a few hours if possible.
