[ARCHIVED] Videos to showcase why officers choose to wear the badge

The Roswell Police Department and the City of Roswell are in the process of producing the first of what is planned to be a series of videos that will feature members of the department talking about their reasons for being a police officer. The first video of the series, titled “Why I Wear the Badge,” is expected to be released in February and will be posted on the RPD website and Facebook page. More videos will follow as they are produced.

The videos will offer citizens the chance to gain insight into what drives their local police officers to make the commitment they do to serve the community. The videos, which will also be used in RPD’s officer recruitment efforts, will include RPD members from the different department divisions who serve in various roles within the department. Patrol officers, traffic officers, detectives, SWAT team members, crime-scene evidence personnel and possibly others will share their reasons for entering law enforcement and working for RPD.

The video is being produced by the City of Roswell Public Affairs Department. The public release of the initial video, as well as those to follow, will be announced as production of each video is completed.
