[ARCHIVED] Citizens can visit with local police and firefighters

PD, FD, EMT

The Roswell Police Department and Roswell Fire Department will be participating in this week’s “Coffee with First Responders” event being organized by Homes for Heroes of Chaves County. The event will take place Friday, Jan. 27, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Los Cerritos Restaurant at 2103 N. Main St.

In addition to the Roswell police and fire departments, the event organizer has invited other branches of local law enforcement to attend. The public can enjoy free coffee while visiting with the law officers and firefighters who serve the community.

Events such as this are a good way for citizens to get to know police and firefighters on a personal level and for all involved to develop strong relationships and trust that are key to a cooperative effort in improving the community.

Established shortly after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, Homes for Heroes is a nationwide nonprofit organization committed to helping firefighters, law enforcement officers, military personnel, healthcare workers, emergency medical personnel and teachers find methods to be able to afford a home and everyday home-related purchases.

For more information about this event or Homes for Heroes of Chaves County, the organization can be contacted at (575) 420-6394.
