[ARCHIVED] Could this be your new dog?

adopt pet

Getting a turn in the spotlight this week is this female heeler who is 1 year old. You can visit her at the Roswell Animal Shelter at 705 E. McGaffey St. The impound number is 5683. Shelter hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. You can call the shelter at (575) 624-6722 or go online to http://roswell-nm.gov/176/Animal-Services to learn more about adoption requirements.

People are encouraged to consider adopting an animal from the shelter, but please remember having a pet is a long-term commitment and should be made only if you are able to properly care for the animal.

Tip of the Week:

Prepare Yourself: Get ready for your new friend before you bring him or her home, to make sure the transition will be as smooth as possible. Buy food, treats, a collar and leash, toys, grooming tools and other necessities in advance so your pet will have everything needed.
