The Roswell Fire Department welcomed nine new firefighters during a graduation ceremony this month (Feb. 2) at the Roswell Convention and Civic Center. The graduates completed 600 hours of training during the 16-week RFD Academy. The graduates are (left to right) Roman Lucero, Tanner Berry, Amador Amaya, Andrew Ward, Jason Montez, Justin Hernandez, Joshua Tubbs, Kenneth Kilness and Tucker Bruns.
Family members were on hand to pin the new firefighters’ badges on their uniforms asa they were sworn in.
During the ceremony, Chief Devin Graham presented an RFD helmet to recruit Justin Christian, who suffered a debilitating medical incident in October and is continuing his rehabilitation. The helmet was signed by the members of the fire department.
