[ARCHIVED] Fish Naming Contest

Trout News

While our fish settles in to its new home, we need your help, or, more specifically, the help of the children. Our local children have an opportunity to name this fish.

The city and our partners are excited to open a naming contest for the fish. Anyone 18 years of age or younger can submit an entry.  The judges will be Yasine Armstrong, Joe Farr, Mark Baker and Marge Woods, the zoo superintendent.   Entries will be considered based on originality and uniqueness.  The name must also have ties to Roswell’s history, be scientific or feature a zoo-related concept.

If multiple entries suggesting the same name are submitted and that name is selected as the winner, a drawing will be held to determine who will receive the top prize. Prizes for the winning entry, as well as second- and third-place entries, will be awarded by Gemini Rosemont.

Enter online by clicking "Submit a form" below or pick up forms at the Parks & Recreation office or the Zoo.  All submissions must be submitted online or dropped off at the Zoo office.  The Zoo office will be open from 9am – 1pm, Monday-Friday.  Submissions must be turned in on or before May 26th.
