A 69-year-old Roswell man was arrested June 8 following an investigation by the Roswell Police Department that resulted in the man being charged with 73 criminal counts of sexual exploitation of children, as well as five other criminal counts.

Edward Dean Goodman is accused of providing marijuana to two teenage girls, both minors, in exchange for inappropriate photographs (nude or limited states of dress) of the girls. It is alleged one girl provided digital photographs of herself at Goodman’s request and the other girl submitted to Goodman’s request that she let him photograph her at Goodman’s house. Investigators found the girls’ actions were a result of Goodman enticing them by offering to and then providing them marijuana. It is also alleged Goodman sexually assaulted one of the girls.

The investigation began in mid-April when Goodman’s wife discovered some of the photos of the girls Goodman possessed. His wife brought the situation to the attention of the mother of one of the girls and police were notified.

In addition to the 73 counts (based on the number of photos discovered) of sexual exploitation of children, Goodman is also charged with one count of criminal sexual penetration of a minor, two counts of distribution of marijuana to a minor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
