The Roswell Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the annual Turtle Marathon Saturday, Sept. 2. The event features a competitive marathon, half-marathon, 5K run and 5K walk.

The marathon and half-marathon will begin at 5:30 a.m. The 5K run and 5K walk begin at 8 a.m. All races will start at Cahoon Park at 1100 W. Fourth St.

Participants will compete in nine age divisions for both men and women in all events. Age divisions are 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-70, and 70 and over. Overall winners male and female in both races will receive awards. First-through third-place finishers will receive medals in each age group. T-shirts will be given to all participants and drawings for door prizes will take place following the race.  

Entry forms are available at the Roswell Adult and Recreation Center at 807 N. Missouri Ave. or online at active.com. Registration fee for any of the races is $30 on or before Sept. 1 or $35 on race day. Registration on race day for the 5K run and walk will be 6:30-7:30 a.m. at the Parks and Recreation offices in Cahoon Park. Packet pickup will be Sept. 1 at the Parks and Recreation offices from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. or on race day morning from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. for the 5K races.
