Roswell Public Library Named One of the Winners in a
National Display Contest - 15 Schools, Libraries and Bookstores Win 2017 Children’s Book Week Contest
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In celebration of the 98th anniversary of Children’s Book Week, 705 libraries, schools, and bookstores were invited in May to enter a national display contest around the theme of “One World, Many Stories.”
Roswell Public Library is proud to be one of 15 winners of the 2017 Children’s Book Week Contest. In recognition of this award, the Children’s Book Council and Every Child a Reader, a nonprofit literacy organization dedicated to inspiring reading by kids and teens, will issue a national press release and award each location with books to donate to a local charity.
Roswell Public Library will be giving 28 children’s books – a selection of the 28 Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards – to Roswell Children, Youth, and Families Department (CYFD) and the Assurance Home, Inc..
As Shaina Birkhead, Programming and Strategic Partnerships Director for Children’s Book Council and Every Child a Reader, stated: “It is always so wonderful to see locations visually express the themes and excitement of Children’s Book Week in their displays. This year gave us some of the best ones yet and we are grateful for the time and creativity that teachers, librarians, and booksellers put into these displays. Congrats to all the winners!”
