Jeremy Hawkins (website)

Roswell murder suspect Jeremy Hawkins (pictured) was arrested Aug. 19 in Albuquerque. He is accused of fatally shooting a local woman during an argument in early August inside a hotel room in north Roswell.

Roswell Police Department detectives filed a criminal complaint and obtained a warrant Aug. 18 for Hawkins' arrest in connection with the death of 31-year-old Ashley Sena, whose body was found Aug. 4 in a hotel room at Comfort Suites. She had been shot once in the face. Sena is believed to have been Hawkins’ girlfriend.

Hawkins, 35, was arrested in Albuquerque by the U.S. Marshals Service without incident. He wiIl face charges in Roswell of murder, tampering with evidence, intimidation of a witness (two counts), and felon in possession of a firearm.

Investigators believe that following the shooting, Hawkins, who cannot legally possess a firearm because he has a prior felony conviction for child abuse, took the gun used to fire the fatal shot and discarded it elsewhere. Investigators also believe Hawkins later threatened or intimidated two people regarding this case.
