A Roswell man charged with tampering with evidence and intimidation of a witness in connection with the early-August murder of a local woman inside a hotel room turned himself in to authorities Aug. 25.

Frank Moss, 29, surrendered at Magistrate Court about 8:30 a.m. Police were called to the court and placed Moss under arrest. In addition to the tampering and intimidation charges, Moss (pictured) is charged with felon in possession of a handgun. Roswell Police Department detectives obtained the arrest warrant for Moss Aug. 21.

The charges are connected to the shooting death of 31-year-old Ashley Sena of Roswell, whose body was found the afternoon of Aug. 4 when hotel staff entered a room at Comfort Suites in the 3600 block of North Main Street in north Roswell. She had been shot once in the face.

Sena’s boyfriend, Jeremy Hawkins, 35, of Roswell, was arrested Aug. 19 in Albuquerque by U.S. marshals who served a warrant obtained the previous day by RPD detectives. Hawkins is accused of shooting Sena. Hawkins is charged with an open count of murder, tampering with evidence, felon in possession of a firearm, and two counts of intimidation of a witness.

The tampering with evidence charge against Moss stems from his allegedly going to the hotel room after the shooting – but prior to Sena’s body being discovered in the room by hotel staff – and collecting Hawkins’ possessions and returning them to the murder suspect. The other charges against Moss, who has at least one prior felony conviction in the past 10 years, are based on investigators’ belief Moss had a gun with him when he allegedly threatened a potential witness in this case.
