A 24-year-old man was injured Sept. 20 in a shooting that occurred in the south part of the city. The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Roswell Police Department investigators are asking anyone who saw or heard anything potentially related to the shooting, or has any other relative information, to contact the department.
The shooting is believed to have occurred shortly before 4 p.m. as the victim and another person sat in a vehicle in the driveway of a residence in the 200 block of East Poe Street. Those two people told police the shooter came up to the vehicle and fired shots into the vehicle, striking the victim. The shooter then fled, and the victim and the other person drove away. They could not describe the shooter in any detail.
As the victim drove the vehicle, the passenger eventually called 911, informing a dispatcher of the shooting victim and asking emergency medical personnel to meet them at the Center City bowling alley in the 3900 block of Southeast Main Street. Medical personnel were waiting for the victim’s vehicle when it arrived outside the bowling alley about 4:10 p.m. The victim was transported to a hospital.
