Registration for the Roswell Youth Basketball Leagues for boys and girls ages 9-12 is taking place.

Registration for ages 9-10 runs through Nov. 30. Registration for ages 11-12 will continue an additional month through Dec. 28. Each age group plays in its own league and boys and girls play in separate sections of each league (not coed teams/league). For ages 9-10, practices are expected to begin in late December and games are planned to begin in January. For ages 11-12, practices should begin in early January while games could start in late January or early February.

All children participating in the league must be of the proper age by Dec. 31. First-time players need to have a birth certificate to verify age when registering.

All children are guaranteed to play at least two quarters per game. The cost is $40 (plus tax) for the first child and $30 (plus tax) for each additional child of the same family.

The league also is looking for volunteer basketball officials and coaches. A background check of volunteers will be conducted.
