[ARCHIVED] Robber brandishes gun at store, flees on foot

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Thursday night (Aug. 25) at the Family Dollar store in the 2200 block of West Second Street.
The robber entered the store about 9 p.m., approached a clerk at the cash register, demanded money and brandished a handgun. The clerk stepped back from the register and the robber grabbed cash from it and fled on foot. No one was injured.
The robber is believed to be a Hispanic man possibly in his mid-40s. The clerk described him as having a strong accent and having some trouble speaking English. The robber, who had a bandana covering part of his face, has a thin build and is estimated to be 5’1” to 5’4” tall.
