The Roswell Recreation Department will be hosting the annual Turtle Marathon Saturday, Aug. 31. The multiple-race event begins at the National Guard Armory parking lot at #1 W. Earl Cummings Loop.
The event featuring a competitive marathon, half-marathon, 10K walk, 10K run, 5K run and 5K walk will be on the road that runs around the outside of the Roswell International Air Center.
The marathon and half-marathon will begin at 6 a.m. The 10K run, 10K walk, 5K run and 5K walk begin at 8 a.m. All races will start at the National Guard Armory parking lot.
Participants will compete in nine age divisions for both men and women in all events. First- through third-place finishers will receive medals. Overall winners will receive awards. T-shirts will be given to all participants and drawings for door prizes will take place.
Entry forms are available at the Roswell Adult Center at 807 N. Missouri Ave., the Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center at 1402 W. College Blvd., or online at RoswellConnect.com. The registration fee for any of the races is $30 on or before Aug. 30. There is no race-day registration.
Packet pickup will be Aug. 30 at the National Guard Armory from 4 to 6 p.m. or on race day from 6 to 7:30 a.m. for the 10K and 5K runs and walks.
