[ARCHIVED] More meetings set to gather input for aquatic center; email address also established for comments

aquatic center input

Three more public-input meetings have been scheduled for Roswell citizens to share their ideas and thoughts about an aquatic center that would be part of a proposed new recreation center for the community.

Much input was heard from residents who attended an initial public-input meeting Sept. 13. City officials and architects from the aquatic-design firm working on the proposed facility are eager to hear much more about what the community would like to see among the offerings in a local aquatic center.

Architects from the aquatic facility design firm of Counsilman-Hunsaker will present an overview of aquatic facility options and innovations, including a review of aquatic facilities similar to what could potentially be considered for Roswell. The presentation will offer an overview of possibilities that can be combined with local residents’ suggestions and desires as the architects work on the aquatic-center design. The aquatic center is intended to be part of the proposed recreation center, which would be built at Cielo Grande Recreation Area in west Roswell.

The public-input meetings are scheduled for:
> Monday, Sept. 26, 6:30 p.m. at Goddard High School Little Theatre, 701 E. Country Club Road
> Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2 p.m. at Roswell Boys and Girls Club, 201 S. Garden Ave.
> Tuesday, Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m. at Roswell High School Little Theatre, 500 W. Hobbs St.
