NEW OFFICE HOURS
The library’s official hours are Tuesdays – Fridays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a senior hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to accommodate those individuals who are most vulnerable to COVID-19.
COVID GUIDELINES
The library is observing social distancing measures per New Mexico’s Department of Health. It will be mandatory for all patrons to wear a mask and have their library card before entering the building. The library will not be operating at full capacity, and only a limited amount of people are allowed entrance at a time.
Staff members will practice enhanced cleaning throughout the day. The Circulation Desk has a plexiglass shield installed and special guides have been placed on the floor to help maintain proper social distancing. Additionally, the library will have two self-checkout stations. All public computer stations now adhere to social distance guidelines. Due to the limited number of people permitted in the library, patrons are allowed to log in once per day for one hour only.
BOOK RETURNS
Patrons must return books using two of the following methods. You may return your books using the return box at the lobby entrance, or you place them in the outside book drops located in the alley on the east side of the library. The library staff will quarantine all items for three days as recommended by the Center For Disease Control and The American Library Association before cleaning and re-shelving them. Grace periods are adjusted so that no one has overdue books or fines during these three days.
LIBRARY ON THE GO
The library will continue to offer a concierge service, Library On The Go, for library materials. Patrons must pick up all items on the east side of the library.
CHILDREN’S AREA AND MEETING ROOMS
The Children’s area is closed to the public during renovations. Staff will retrieve any materials upon the patron’s request. The library’s meeting rooms will not be available and there will no in-person programs until all renovations are complete.
Thank you for your support and patience through this unprecedented time. The library looks forward to seeing the Roswell community members once again.
