RMAC Puzzle Room
Open through February 2021
Do you love crosswords, hidden object and logic puzzles? Put your observation and puzzle-solving skills to the test! The artists in the Roswell Artist-in-Residence (RAiR) program have been keeping a secret for more than 50 years, leaving clues to it in their artworks. Can you discover the secret?
As a small fundraiser, “The RMAC Puzzle Room: A RAiR Secret” has opened in one of the museum’s galleries and will run through December. Similar to an escape room, participants are introduced to a fictional storyline, tied to objects from the permanent collection, which directs them to solve enough puzzles to discover “a RAiR secret” in 60 minutes. The activity is geared to ages 16 and older with an interest in logic and word puzzles. The fee is $5 per person and the activity will accommodate three to five players. Precautions have been taken to ensure there is little to touch, and the space will be disinfected between groups.
Following state safety guidelines, the museum continues to operate at a 25-percent capacity, requires face coverings, and has social-distancing guidelines. Cleaning has been enhanced throughout the museum, including increased frequency of disinfecting high-traffic surfaces, and sanitizer stations are available in several areas. In accordance with state requirements, the museum’s staff, as well as all visitors, are required to wear face coverings; complimentary masks will be provided for guests who need one.
Puzzle Room reservations are available during museum visiting hours Tuesday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. As recommended by state and city officials, those who are not feeling well and people with serious medical conditions should delay their visit until a safer time. To make a reservation, call 624-6744.
