Roswell Museum and Art Center Open and Free for Second Saturday!

While new admission fees went into effect for the Roswell Museum and Art Center Jan. 1, part of the new fee structure includes a monthly free day for Roswell residents on the second Saturday of every month. The museum’s first free Saturday will be this week on Jan. 9, when the museum galleries, store and puzzle room will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors must make an advanced reservation for the puzzle room.

Current visiting hours for RMAC are Tuesday through Friday, 1 p.m.-5 p.m. and the second Saturday of every month 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Museum members have free admission every day. During regular admission days, there is a discounted $7 rate for Roswell residents, as well as all seniors, military members/veterans and students ages 16 and older. Children 15 and younger get free admission anytime the museum is open and seniors’ admission is free every Wednesday. In addition, RMAC has joined the national program “Museums for All,” through which a $3 rate is offered for those who participate in the SNAP food assistance program.

The museum encourages those who attend regularly to become members to receive free admission all year, as well as other benefits including discounts on classes and in the museum store, plus invitations to special events. Annual memberships start at $25. The highest level at $100 also provides free admissions to other museums throughout the state and country. In addition, the museum store will be holding a special Second Saturday sale to welcome in the new year! Several items will be available at deep discounts as the staff prepares for new inventory.

As recommended by state and city officials, those who are not feeling well and people with serious medical conditions should delay their visit until a safer time. The Robert H. Goddard Planetarium remains closed until further notice.
