Whether you enjoy competing on your own or like to be part of a team, the City of Roswell has a couple upcoming recreation options in which residents can participate.
Adult coed volleyball is scheduled to begin its season June 7. The season will feature 10 games for each team, with games played Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 each night at the Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center. Each team must have at least four players and can have as many as 10. Players must be age 16 or older. The cost per team is $212.25. Registration, which is open May 1-31, can be found here. The Alien Chase will welcome runners and walkers July 3, when the event, featuring a 5K run and 5K walk, will send participants onto the course beginning at DeBremond Stadium (100 W. 11th St.) at 7 a.m. There are nine age categories and awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group in each race. Awards will also go to the top overall male finisher and top overall female finisher. Race packets will be available for pick up July 2 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center (1402 W. College Blvd.) or July 3 before the races from 6 to 6:30 a.m. at DeBremond Stadium. Entry into the Alien Chase costs $42 through June 30. The entry fee from July 1 to 3 is $52.50.
