The Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center will be the site this weekend of the swimming portion of the 2021 USA Pentathlon Multisport National Championships organized by the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
In order to accommodate this competition, the indoor pool will be closed to the public Friday, May 21, until 10 a.m. The Recreation and Aquatic Center is scheduled to host the swimming event each morning Friday, Saturday and Sunday (May 21-23), but the pool is scheduled to open to the public at its usual time Saturday (10 a.m.) and Sunday (noon). As part of COVID-19 precautions, no spectators are allowed at the swimming competition.
The Pentathlon Multisport competition consists of athletes in various age categories (Youth, Juniors, Seniors and Masters) competing in swimming, fencing and horse riding at various venues in Roswell. The USA Pentathlon Multisport National Championships are the sole qualifier for the U.S. Youth and Junior World Championships team that will compete in Alexandria, Egypt, July 4-17. The National Championships will also be the qualifier for the U.S. team that will compete in the first-ever Junior PanAmerican Games in Cali, Columbia, Sept. 10-14.
