Several City of Roswell facilities will be expanding the hours they are open to the public as the city works to increase the opportunities people have to enjoy its services and amenities.

The Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center (1402 W. College Blvd.) will open its outdoor pool Saturday, May 22. It will be open Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., for the next two weekends and then will expand its hours June 7, when it will be open seven days a week, noon to 6 p.m. The indoor pool will be open for lap swimming only (Monday-Friday, 6-9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.-noon; Saturday, 10 a.m.-noon). Outdoor and indoor pool hours are subject to change based on staffing availability.

The “recreation” side (non-aquatic activities) of the center will be staying open later in the evening beginning June 7. The expanded hours will be Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday noon to 8 p.m.

Spring River Zoo (1306 E. College Blvd.) is adding two days a week, Mondays and Thursdays, to its schedule beginning May 27. The zoo will be open Thursday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The expanded schedule means the zoo will be open for Memorial Day, May 31. Tickets can be purchased online

As of June 4, the Roswell Visitor Center (426 N. Main St.) will expand its Friday and Saturday hours as the center will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. those days. The center will continue its hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The Roswell Museum and Art Center (1011 N. Richardson Ave.) will expand its schedule beginning June 12 with hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. The museum’s Robert H. Goddard Planetarium is tentatively scheduled to open June 12, as well. However, that date is subject to change depending on state COVID-safety standards that could impact the planetarium.
